Rabia Awan

Biography

Awan law was founded by Rabia Awan in 2020, a Barrister and Solicitor, licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, and is a part of the Women’s Lawyers Forum. Rabia is a Canadian of Pakistani origin. She was born in Lahore, Pakistan, and moved to Canada at a young age. Even as a young immigrant, she always knew she wanted to be a lawyer through her passion for social justice issues and her unwavering commitment to helping others, and making a meaningful contribution to society.

As a Toronto-based lawyer adhering to her South Asian roots, Rabia is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi. Committed to justice and equality, she works in the utmost professional capacity to understand and deliver her client’s objectives. Rabia is a firm believer that everyone should have access to justice and legal services and thus is proud to give back to the community, she serves.

Rabia is not only a member of the Law Society of Ontario but she is also admitted as an Australian Lawyer to the Supreme Court of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia). Rabia is eligible to sit for the New York and California States Bar Exams in the United States of America, as well as in her own country of origin, Pakistan.

Her ultimate goal is to qualify in numerous jurisdictions leading her to become a founder of an international law firm of her own in the upcoming future. She aspires to work for the federal government particularly for Global Affairs Canada, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and the Department of Justice. She has appeared for the Public Service Exam of Canada in 2020.
